What's On in Shetland

Whats On
Forthcoming Events for July

11th June to 25th July
Shetland Museum - Da Gadderie Exhibition
High Seas and High Tea
Tea is Britain’s favourite tipple and it is infused into Shetland culture as it is elsewhere. It used to be quite costly, but in the 1850s and ‘60s a fast type of sailing ship - the tea clipper- rushed the cargo back from China to Britain in huge quantity. Now everyone could enjoy tea. Our show looks at the Shetland scene: bartering goods for tea, genteel tea parties, and picnics in the peat hill.
Daily Tour : ‘For all the tea in China’ 14:30-15:00
