About 5000 books, magazines, journals and pamphlets relating to Shetland – on subjects such as archaeology, biography, culture, folklore, genealogy, language, literature, religion, statistics, the sea and war. Research. The public can access the collections in a comfortable, quiet room which is open:

Monday to Friday 10am to 4.30pm, and Saturday 10am to 1pm.

Everyone is welcome, access to the records is free of charge, and staff are always on hand to help. Material can only be consulted in the Archives - it cannot be borrowed.
