Not been on the sneig: made a tour on a motor boat around Foula: and some walking on the hills. Saw the nest of a bonnie: with a chick freeing itself from the shell. Had a tremendous good four days on Foula: will sure come back.

Enjoyed an evening with some real good life music: fiddle, banjo, piano, accordeon in different styles, played by two groups. Their playing-pleasure was infectious, such a pity I'm such a dork in dancing. Don't know anything about waltzes, twosteps ...

Thank you for posting this information: flying from Amsterdam to Aberdeen tomorrow: just in time by ferry in Lerwick to see the Olympic torch! Can't express how much I'm looking forward to another stay on the Shetlands

petermycat Thanks to lucky1 and Inga Scott for your kind replies: made this video for my self - when I'm back I will try to make another one with more impressions of the landscape and the people I've hopefully met. I was impressed by the skies and felt so much at peace - no need for music accept for the birds above my head. Being the happiest man on the world with a sweet potato, red onion, roast beef, and some stock cubes - which made a nice mash - bought on my arrival on Fetlar on a monday - the shop was officially closed.... What is luxury these days?
