As a Shetlandlive members you are able to design your own profile page, add profile picture, upload videos, blogs and more. Preferred privacy settings for your page. You'll find a range of other familiar features including walls, activity feeds and the ability to search other members using multiple criteria.

EASY MESSAGING
A hallmark of any strong network is the ability of members to message one another directly. With our built-in technology, it's possible to contact multiple members simultaneously, as well as sub-groups and individuals. A branded email alert will arrive in the recipient's inbox and invite them to come visit the site.

PROMOTING EVENTS
Shetlandlive can be an excellent platform for organizing and promoting events. Members and sub-groups have the option of making an event public or private. People can then mark their attendance, write on the wall and upload photos. As network owner, you have the right to moderate the creation of new events.

TEXT & VIDEO CHAT
At the base of your networking site, you'll find a chat bar which shows the members online at that moment. It's possible to chat in real time via text, but also via video without the need to download any additional software.

Forums
Your members can debate hot topics in specially created forums and post video and photos as part of their replies. Participants are notified of any new responses by email. What's more, groups are able to keep their own forums private.

Da Pub
The Local pub - Da Red Tin is designed like a virtual local pub, have an ipint, chat and catch up with folk you know. You might want to have a game of pool or darts, or try your luck on the gambler?.  Play tunes free on the Shetlandlive Jukebox,  music is automatically added from members music in profile page, so you get a really random selection, great for parties.
You can also request to become a member of Da Club (over 18) where you can message other members, post up your photos and videos, stories and blogs. Cheers!

Date Bait/Hook Up  
A Free and discreet way of hooking up with new folk from Shetland. Is there someone you want to know better but find its difficult "dating" in Shetland, the folk decide before you do.  You might want to find someone that shares a similar hobby or interest to you. If You are new or returning home to Shetland and looking to create new friendships or looking and hook up with old friends.
How it works - if you see another member your are interested in then you cast them a line -  but they will have no idea Unless they have discreetly cast you a line too and then and only then will your lines connect.

Integration
As a Member you can sign up to your network by using your Facebook and Twitter credentials. Simply click on a button in the sidebar and are logged straight in.

It is free to become a member of Shetlandlive and use its features.  Shetlandlive is privately funded, all donations received via donate button are to go to various Shetland Charities.

Shetland's Local auction site. Auction, Reverse Auction, Buy it Now, Swap, Make an Offer. Basic ads with a picture free*.  Open a Ze-Shop.
0% commission taken on sale of items. This area is designed for second hand, charity and good as new items.  Enhance and upgrade your ads.

ZE-BUY
Shetland's Online Shopping and Business Directory, including shops, trades and services at the click of a button. Advertise your business or open a local shop for local people through Ze-Buy. Arrange to collect or post items. Whatever the size or type of your business and its based in Shetland and you can provide good photos and descriptions of your items, then you can open a shop.
This area is designed for established shops and businesses or someone running a business from home.

ZE-SHOPS
If you have enough items to sell you can open a shop in either ZE-Buy or Ze-Bid, depending on what you want to sell. Customers can browse through your goods or services and can buy items there and then.  Payments of items go directly to you less any fees. No Commissions taken on items sold in shop.  Flat shop subscription fee, no commission on items sold, various shop types and number of items and duration choices.
